Upgrading to 2Gb (or even maxing out to 4Gb, of which 3.3 is usable by Core 2 Duo minis) would be a good idea. Since you did an erase and install at initial use in order to put Leopard on the system, I don't think there would be anything to gain from performing another one at this time, unless running Disk Utility were to indicate a problem with the hard drive itself - in which case you would likely be suffering a significantly higher level of problems and system crashes.ĭepending on which apps are running, 4 or 5 could be a rather high memory load, or relatively light! I would say, however, that 1Gb RAM is the realistic minimum for Leopard on an Intel-based Mac, so even with no PPC processes running, your system is not likely to be performing at its best with that level of RAM.
